Intermediate Sequencing for Static Trapeze
Limited Capacity full

Often, when we learn aerial arts, we work on one skill at a time. Once you have a pretty good "toolbox" of skills, though, it's important to learn how to string them together in ways that are efficient, safe, and interesting to watch. In this workshop, students will learn a fun and engaging sequence in three or more parts and will then put it all together into one "routine". This will allow them to work on fluidity of movement, transitions between the various levels of the trapeze (under, on, and above the bar), and endurance. And students may even learn some new skills along the way!

Advanced Hand to Hand
Limited Capacity filling up

Hand to hand involves a lot more than just doing a handstand in someone else’s hands. As a circus discipline, hand to hand acts usually have a porter (base) and flyer working together to execute moves of strength, balance, elevation, flexibility and dance. There are two types of hand to hand: static and dynamic. Static hand to hand focuses on balance, whereas dynamic hand to hand makes full use of a performance space by tossing the flyer through acrobatic transitions. During this workshop we will be training and refining both static and dynamic hand to hand.

Prerequisites:

  • Must sign up with a dedicated partner

  • Flyer: 1 minute handstand against wall

  • Supine extended foot to hand, one minute hold

  • Comfortable two high (squats and can walk and stop at will and with control)

  • Standing foot to hand (low), 30 sec hold without walking

  • Standing hand to hand (low), 10 sec hold without walking

  • Inlocate to two high
